Through Thick and Thin

2001

Eating disorders are about addiction - be it addiction to starvation or to food. Seven years ago, Felicia, weighing 86 lbs., lay in a hospital bed in Rome with tubes in her arms, dying of anorexia. Sixteen years ago, Leslie was bulimic. While clutching a bottle of pills, she thought suicide was her only escape. These two filmmakers recovered. But sadly, they are among the few that do. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any other psychological disease.
