Biography

Howard "Happy" Goodman (1921–2002) was a gospel singer from Alabama who founded The Happy Goodman Family in 1949 with his wife Vestal and brothers Sam and Rusty. Famous for his spirited piano style and stage presence, he guided the group to two Grammy Awards and nine nominations. The group was honored in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1998. He passed away in 2002 in Nashville.
